Written before the summer of 2022 arrived, No Flames for the Seafarer expresses the artist's internal conflict with himself. The song uses the metaphor of a seafarer who sets onto the journey of looking for flames in the bleak days to portray the artist's struggle to still believe in the things that used to drive him forward.
